Kelliher Public School has an opening for a  full-time Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 School year. 

Special Education Teacher: should demonstrate the skills necessary for delivering services to students with learning and/or social/emotional and behavioral needs. The selected candidate will also be responsible for evaluations, developing and managing IEPs. Facilitating IEP team meetings in collaboration with other teachers and families. In addition, the successful candidate must either possess or be eligible to possess a current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License.

Salary depends on qualifications: $51,190-85,789
Benefits: Health Insurance for Single HSA plan fully covered + additional HSA/VEBA contributions, Family plans $1,350/month towards premium, $1,200 403(b) annual match, Q-Comp, TRA Pension, (12) days PTO.

American Indian Education Coordinator

1.0 FTE  |  Non-Licensed Professional Staff  |  KSS Contract

 

Position Overview:

Leads the district’s American Indian Education Aid (AIEA) program and federal Title VI grant. Coordinates the American Indian Parent Advisory Committee (AIPAC) and serves as the primary link between the school and the American Indian community. A teaching license is not required for this position.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • Strong ties to and knowledge of Ojibwe/Anishinaabe culture and Red Lake Nation community
  • Ability to manage records, data, and program documentation
  • Effective communication skills with Native families, tribal officials, and school staff
  • Valid Minnesota driver’s license

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a school, tribal program, or grant administration setting
  • Familiarity with AIEA program, Title VI requirements, or MDE reporting
  • Fluency or working knowledge of Ojibwe

     

    Compensation:

    Salary: $28.15–$33.40 per hour, per board-approved salary schedule

Ojibwe Language & Culture Teacher / Indian Education Coordinator

1.0 FTE  |  Licensed Position  |  KEA Contract

 

Position Overview:

Provides K–12 instruction in Ojibwe language, Anishinaabe history, and American Indian culture. Also serves as the district’s dedicated Indian Education Coordinator, leading the American Indian Education Aid (AIEA) program, managing the federal Title VI grant, and serving as the primary link between the school and the American Indian community.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota PELSB American Indian Language, History, and Culture (AILHC) license
  • Bachelor’s degree required (unless PELSB-recognized exemption applies

     Note: A Tier 1 license will be considered if no AILHC-licensed candidate is available after a good-faith search.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong ties to Red Lake Nation or another federally recognized tribe
  • Fluency or proficiency in Ojibwe (Anishinaabemowin)
  • Experience in K–12 instruction and/or grant or program administration

    Salary: $51,190–$65,111 based on KEA negotiated salary schedule

Sub. childcare aide: $15.00/hr.
